"For out of burnt
tree logs and brass, [Tomaszewski] has created a series - dating back
several years - of victims in various poses: a child clinging to its
mother, weeping women, others with their hands raised in partial questioning,
partial prayer, to the skies ... 'I believe when I retired I started
to make this Holocaust series... I made them as a warning that this
couldn't happen again with any nation.'"
